I made a pledge to put out a post every day in 2011. That means for January I needed to have posted 31 times. So how did I do? Well I put out 42 posts. That is only ten less than all of 2010. I would have to say that I am off to a pretty good start this year.
I have set this goal in an aim to write more. My wife made an interesting observation the other day. She said that if I wanted to make a living writing, that by the end of this year I would have a pretty full portfolio of stuff to show potential employers on my writing style. I had never once thought of it that way, but she is right. I would have over 365 pieces to show someone who might be interested in me (over 500 if I keep up my January rate).
That’s my longer term goal. I would love to write and generate an income for my family by doing something I have really come to enjoy. Next week, I am starting a new phase for this blog. Early last week, I was concerned about my blog’s focus and one of my readers came up with a great suggestion. This reader suggested that I focus my blog topics for each day of the week. I thought that was a wonderful idea, and plan to carry that out that starting next week.
I am absolutely thrilled with my progress so far, and I am looking forward to continuing the adventure this blog is generating.
