The Tally Is In

I made a pledge to put out a post every day in 2011.  That means for January I needed to have posted 31 times.  So how did I do?  Well I put out 42 posts.  That is only ten less than all of 2010.  I would have to say that I am off to a pretty good start this year.

I have set this goal in an aim to write more.  My wife made an interesting observation the other day.  She said that if I wanted to make a living writing, that by the end of this year I would have a pretty full portfolio of stuff to show potential employers on my writing style.  I had never once thought of it that way, but she is right.  I would have over 365 pieces to show someone who might be interested in me (over 500 if I keep up my January rate).

That’s my longer term goal.  I would love to write and generate an income for my family by doing something I have really come to enjoy.  Next week, I am starting a new phase for this blog.  Early last week, I was concerned about my blog’s focus and one of my readers came up with a great suggestion.  This reader suggested that I focus my blog topics for each day of the week.  I thought that was a wonderful idea, and plan to carry that out that starting next week.

I am absolutely thrilled with my progress so far, and I am looking forward to continuing the adventure this blog is generating.

Awesome! Keep it up…I’m interested to see how things go. My goal is to post at least one blog each week in 2011, and so far I’m doing more than that, too. 🙂 The awesome part is that I DO make a living writing, just not about myself like a blog. I do PR for a university that I love and though not every day is perfect, I’m so glad I can do what I love and love what I do. I wish that for you as well. Blessings!

Great Becky! I am already finding it very uplifting to consider myself a writer…thanks for your words of encouragement 🙂
