Weekly Photo Challenge: Wrong

You look at the picture, and then you look back at the challenge for this week.  Perhaps you are muttering to yourself; “Wrong? What’s wrong with this cute picture?”.  I had to dig deep into the metaphorical for my choice this week, so bear with me while I explain the reasons for my picture being in this category.

I did say metaphoric right?  Okay, this happens to be a picture of my two youngest children walking to school for the first day of school.  My daughter is just starting Kindergarten, and my son is starting first grade.  To me this is wrong because it is just one more sign that they are growing up faster and faster.  To me it seems just yesterday I was changing their diapers and burping them.  Time really does fly for a parent, and that is wrong on so many levels.  I suppose I will wake up tomorrow and I am giving my daughter away at the altar, or celebrating the birth of their own children.  Whoa…shake it off Mike.  Too soon, you still have time.

More wrongness exudes from this photo as with the start of school, that means summer is coming to an end soon.  A month from now, I just might be shoveling a foot of snow from that sidewalk, and that is just wrong.  It makes my back wince at the very thought of doing that yet again.  Course, those two little walkers get a little older, and they will be able to help their feeble old dad.

So I suppose, in the end, with every wrong there is a right in there somewhere.

Just imagine how you’ll feel when they are graduating college…or walking down the aisle! But there’s nothing wrong with kids growing up – you’re just going to have to get used to it!

Thanks for the pingback, Mike – looking forward to more posts!

      Trust me, I know 🙂

While it is true that parents often look back and think of those days when their children were little, I also look forward to seeing them grow up and seeing the adventures they will have with their own families 🙂

Glad you stopped by today, see you soon.
