Focusing In: My First Photograph of the New Year

Today’s challenge from the WordPress post-a-day people was  “How do you stay focused?”  Much like many of the challenge topics throughout the last several days, I have taken the topic and put my own personal spin on it and not just taken the literal.  I thought this was a wonderful opportunity to share with you some of my other skills beyond writing.

I like to do something else besides write to express my opinion, and to share my creativity.  I love to take photographs.  Ever since technology has bestowed the wonder of the digital camera, I have shot tens of thousands of photographs.  No really, ask anyone in my family and ask them who is most likely to have a camera in their hand snapping stills of the moment.  That’s right it’s me.  Amazingly, this also means that quality pictures of myself are somewhat rare to find as well.  After all if I am in control of the camera most of the time, who would have a chance to take a picture of me?

2010 saw me take this hobby to a higher level (some might say insane) by becoming the defacto photo guy for my daughter’s softball team.  I really enjoy taking pictures, and someday I will have one of those fancy digital slr cameras.  For now though I just click away with my little point and shoot Canon.

My youngest daughter had the honor of being 2011’s first photograph of mine.  Now, without further ado, I give you my first photograph on 2011:
